February 28 – Our Shepherd

February 28, 2021 – Our Shepherd

Psalm 23 (NKJV): “The lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters.  He restores my sole; He leads me in the paths of righteousness; For His name sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil.  For You are with me;  Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.  You prepared a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.  And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

I memorized the Twenty third Psalm when I was about 10 years old and I think it is one of the most beautiful quotations from the Bible. The 23rd Psalm teaches us and reminds us of our Faith in God and Jesus Christ.

My reason for quoting the 23rd Psalm today is that I must tell you that Miss Sarah Piggy died this week. She was such a delightful pet and made so many people happy.  She was with us from a baby to just past here fifth birthday.  In her memory, here are my two favorite photos:

February 21, 2021 – Love of God

February 21, 2021 – Love of God

1 John 4:19 (NKJV): “We Love Him because He first loved us.”

God’s love is sufficient to sustain us, no matter what we face.  We need to allow Him to drive out our fears and bring us peace.

Winnie’s eight month birthday slipped by earlier this month. Here is a photo of her with eight donuts to celebrate that event. Also, notice that she is wearing glasses. These glasses are to help her correct slightly crossed eyes. Winnie did not like them at first, but quickly got used to the

January 31, 2021 – Know Him

January 31, 2021 – Know Him

Deuteronomy 7:9 (NKJV):”Therefore Know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.”

Certain sins may create repercussion in following generations. In this Bible verse our Lord promises to keep His covenant promises for a thousand generations to those who keep His command

Loni took a great photo of Ryan and the three babies:

January 24, 2021 – Meditation

January 24, 2021 – Mediation

Psalm 19:14 (NKJV):”Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Your sight,  O Lord, my strength and Redeemer.

This is a very short prayer, but an extremely meaningful prayer.  If we could only remember these words and shape our lives around them by doing everything and saying everything in a manner that would be acceptable to God.

Winnie celebrated her seven months, birthday  last week. Here is a photo:

January 17, 2021 – True Faith

January 17, 2021 – True Faith

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV):”Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

True Faith means realizing God wants to provide His very best for us, Sometimes it may not seem this way, but remember god created us, and He knows our needs, sometimes even better then we do.

January 10, 2021 – Everlasting Life

January 10, 2021 – Everlasting Life

John 6:47(NKJV):”Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, has everlasting life.”

John 3:16(NKJV) is God’s promise of everlasting life: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

These two Bible verses clearly tell us that when we put our trust in Christ we will not perish but have everlasting life.  What a great and wonderful promise!!!

January 3, 2021 – Faithful

January 3, 2021 – Faithful

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV): “Through the Lords mercies we are not consumed,  Because His compassions fail not.  They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”

This Bible verse tells us about God’s faithfulness to us. In James, Solomon, the wisest man, says the following:

James 1:17 (NKJV): “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”

We had Snow this week which was something new for Jasper and Levi. Here is a photo of their first reaction to the snow:

Deceber 27, 2020 – Prince of Peace

December 27, 2020 – Prince of Peace

2 Corinthians 9:15 (NKJV): “Thanks be to God for His indescribable Gift!”

This bible verse says it all regarding God’s gift of Jesus.

I celebrated Christmas nearly all week, Bill C. and family came to Bartlesville on Wednesday with dinner and Christmas celebration, then Friday, I spent Christmas Day at Loni and Ryan’s with the Carbaugh family.  Here is a photo of Jasper and Levi enjoying riding their Christmas animals:

December 20, 2020 – God with Us

December 20, 2020 – God with Us

Mathew 1:23 (NKJV) tells us that God is always with us: “…and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, God with us.”

Then in Mathew 28:20 (NKJV), Jesus repeats that He will be with us always: “…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

With is a very important word to these Bible verses.  To be with someone is to stand by them all the time, in good times as well as in bad times. With in these Bible versos has a much deeper meaning than for would have had.

Today is the beginning of Christmas week, my family is coming here to my house to celebrate Christmas one day this week.  This makes me happy as Christmas is the time for families to gather and enjoy each others company.

Here is a good photo of Winnie’s six month birthday:

December 6, 2020 – Saved

December 6, 2020 – Saved

The Bible tells us in Mathew 1:21 (NKJV) about Jesus coming to save us: “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.”

Then in Luke 19:10 (NKJV) Jesus said He came to save us: “for the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost

Soon we will be celebrating Christmas, Jesus’ birthday, and it is fitting to remember these Bible verses regarding His birth and the reason God sent Him to us as a man.

This has been a quiet week, continuing to shelter in place because of the coronavirus. Here is a photo of Levi showing his love for Winnie:
